Radharani Tea Estate is situated in the foothills of the Himalayan range, close to Kalchini, Alipurduar, West Bengal. Spread over 389 hectares, the garden, and a carpet of lush greenery, is regarded as one of the best producers of green tea in the country. Set up in 1911 by the Sinha family of Siliguri, the garden changed hands a few times before being acquired by the Kumbhat family.
Radharani is owned by the Kumbhat family. The patriarch Shri H.S.Kumbhat is a Chartered Accountant with several decades of rich experience. His son, and the Managing Director, is Shri Kaushal Kumbhat, a Chartered Accountant and an MBA. The family has interests in tea, real estate plywood, etc. in N.E. Region. Besides their presence in domestic markets, the family also has significant presence in international markets.
The management is committed to producing tea at Radharani that meets the highest quantity benchmarks and is consumed and enjoyed globally.
Radharani is going through the process of obtaining The TRUSTEA CODE certification. The Trustea Code is designed to evaluate the social, economic, agronomic and environmental performance of Indian Tea Estates. Administered by The Netherlands based Solidaridan NV, it is recognised as one of the premier certifications for Indian Teas.
